Medium Density PVC Foam Tape, Black - Sound Proofing and Insulation
Product Description
- WOD SSMDFT Single Coated Foam Tape is a medium-density, closed-cell PVC foam tape available in various thicknesses (see "Item Lengths" below).
- Coated with high-performance acrylic adhesive on one side, it offers excellent flexibility, conformability, and wear resistance. This foam tape is highly resistant to weather, chemicals, fungi, and oxidation, making it ideal for sealing irregular surfaces or tight radius curves.
Note: This closed-cell foam tape compresses 25% and is not as soft as open-cell foam. It meets the European RoHS directive (2002/95/BC)
Item Lenghts

Product Applications & Uses
- Absorbs shocks, cushions, deadens sound, and eliminates excess vibration, providing an excellent buffer between contact surfaces.
- Ideal for applications requiring positive seals on irregular surfaces or flexibility to seal tight radius curves.
- Forms a long-lasting seal against air, moisture, light, and dust penetration. Perfect for insulation in thermal, electrical, and sound applications.
- Easy to install for windows and doors to seal out drafts, humidity, dust, insects, and pollen. Used for sealing bus/truck doors, water tanks, ducts, appliances, roof parapets, and export containers.
- Extensively used in the automotive, HVAC, and construction industries for air and weather-tight seals, gasketing, cushioning, and vibration control in speakers, vehicles, electronic components, door frames, and more.
- Fills and seals gaps around doors, windows, and car/SUV tops for better insulation.
Application Tips
- Surfaces must be clean and free of oil, grease, moisture, dust and dirt. (Isopropyl alcohol is good for cleaning the surface. Do not remove liner until tape is in proper position.)
- Avoid touching adhesive surface before application. The adhesive is intended for positioning during the assembly process. The foam tape is secured in the joint by compression of the adjacent substrates.
- The application temperature should be between 40°F and 125°F (4°C to 52°C)
